What it is: Licensed by Georgia DDS to administer the official driver’s licence road skills test – no DDS office visit required

Students can take road test at one of our locations - Alpharetta or Lawrenceville, they don’t have to go to DDs to take their Road Test. 1 ACT Driving Schools is a DDS Certified Third- Party Tester. The test is about 45 minutes in which our Licensed examiner will perform the Evaluation. Once you pass, we issue an official certificate, which you then take to a Georgia DDS Customer Service Center to get your license.
Any student can take their Road Test at 1 ACT Driving Schools. However, depending on Age, the student must meet the following Georgia qualifications.
Must hold a valid Georgia or out-of-state driver's permit for at least 1 year and 1 day.
Must have completed the GA DDS-approved 30-hour Driver's Education course (with 1 ACT, another certified school, or online self-paced).
Must have completed a minimum of 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel lessons with 1 ACT only. (Lessons from another school are not accepted.)
Important for 16-year-olds:
Your 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel lessons must be completed with 1 ACT only. Lessons from another school cannot be accepted for the road test at our location. Plan your lesson package before booking the road test.

1 ACT Driving Schools is licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services as a Third-Party Testing (TPT) provider. TPT licence #673 (Lawrenceville) and #730 (Alpharetta) allows certified 1 ACT instructors to administer the official Georgia driver's licence road skills test on-site. The road test is conducted in a 1 ACT insured vehicle at one of our locations - Alpharetta or Lawrenceville. Students who pass receive an official DDS certificate to present at any DDS office to obtain their licence.

The Georgia road skills test covers backing up, stopping for signs and signals, yielding right-of-way, lane changes, and parking. Your 1 ACT instructor covers all of these in lesson preparation.
A certified 1 ACT driving instructor who is also a Georgia DDS-licensed third-party examiner. Every 1 ACT examiner holds both certifications.Our licensed TPT lets you take the road test in our insured car at one of our locations - Alpharetta or Lawrenceville. You don’t have to go to the DDS office to take your road test.

Metro Atlanta DDS offices typically have road test wait times of 4–8 weeks. 1 ACT books appointments within days. You use our insured vehicle, the test is conducted by a DDS-certified examiner, and one free retake is included.

Yes. The test is administered by a certified 1 ACT examiner. A parent or guardian needs to be present for the appointment. They don't get in the car with the minor but they must be accompanied by an adult to their appointment.
